As your Mayor & City Councilmember, I have made our Police, Fire, Schools, Fiscal Accountability and Quality of Life my Priority.
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you and our community these past four years. As I complete my first term on the Council, I am proud to have taken a leadership role in implementing “resident sensitive” changes. I am proud to have:
- Authored the most robust Code of Ethics Ordinance in the State of California
- Authored the first Outdoor Dining Smoke-Free Ordinance in Beverly Hills
- Negotiated largest City/School JPA funding packaging in our history
- Conceived California’s cutting edge Green Building Standards insuring environmental sustainability for both residential and commercial properties
- Co-Authored and Established first Health and Safety Commission
- Co-Authored the most comprehensive security camera (CCTV) policy to protect our City, Schools, Parks and Retail facilities
- Preserved a four year Budget Surplus and Maintained the highest “A” bond rating
- Initiated the first Beverly Hills Traffic and Parking Mitigation Symposium
- Enhanced communication through Ombudsman 311 and “Ask Bev”
- Developed a Master Plan to upgrade our park facilities for AYSO, Little League and Active Adult Senior Center
That is why I am delighted to formally announce I am running for a second term to our City Council in March 2009, continuing my commitment to help protect and enrich the community we all treasure.
I will continue to build on my record of integrity and experience to protect the interests of residents and neighborhoods while meeting the challenges facing our community. I am asking for your support and endorsement (please hit link to the left) and most importantly your vote for the Beverly Hills City Council election on March 3, 2008.
I believe open communication is the critical component to any successful organization; be it a family, a business, or a city. Should you have any questions, concerns or suggestions about our community, please don’t hesitate to email me at barry@electbarrybrucker.com or call me on my cell phone 310-922-5312.
Together we can make a difference . . .
